I've started a photo blog with flikr in here. Flikr is one weapon of yahoo in the fight against google. I've used picassa from google and flikr looks like a web version of picassa. For the time being I'm pretty impressed with Flikr. They also have Uploading tool which can be used to upload photos from your PC straight to web rather than doing it in a web interface.
